Liaoning to build first „bioenergy forest“ based on yellowhorn, plans annual 80.000 t output of aviation fuel by 2020

In a collaboration among the State Forest Energy Research Center and Chaoyang New Continent Biological Energy Co., 65 km2 of yellowhorn plants (Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge) plantations have already been completed. BC1, a glycosylposphatidyl inositol anchored protein, is released into cell walls by removal of the GPI anchor and possesses a carbohydrate-binding module interacting specifically with crystalline cellulose.
