At the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFT), StellarView and a team from Tsinghua University have presented a digital earth model with near real-time carbon emission data. “Carbon Planet” claims daily resolution and near real-time update. The product makes full use of carbon data models, incorporates satellite remote sensing monitoring data, integrates big data, AI, GIS, remote sensing and other technologies, combines bottom-up calculation and top-down observation, and thus integrates carbon data from sky, air and earth. It distinguishes carbon dioxide emissions from multiple sub-sectors such as electricity, industrial production, transportation, and residential consumption, and visualizes carbon emissions with a spatial resolution of 0.1°×0.1°, and key cities can be upgraded to 1㎞×1㎞. Temporal resolution is on a daily scale. “Carbon Planet beta” will be improved by carbon emission (sink) data, by customized regional carbon emission monitoring, regional carbon sink tracking, industry low-carbon tracking, smart city carbon indicators and other comprehensive carbon related products covering the government, enterprises and the public. It will provide a platform and tools to support China’s “double carbon” target.
