CAS Institute of Process Engineering develops magnet-based method for microalgae harvesting

The group around Chunzhao LIU synthesized a magnetic flocculant from iron oxide and cationic polyacrylamide, resulting in a recovery efficiency of more than 95% within 10 min of 25 mg/L for Botryococcus braunii or 120 mg/L of Chlorella ellipsoidea.
