Chinese Academy of Forestry: Institute of Forest Chemical Industry develops polyurethane insulation foam from wood rosin

China’s pine forest area covers 13 million ha, and 2 million tons of rosin (residues after distilling off turpentine) providing 800.000 t of fat can be obtained per year. The institute has developed a method to produce polyurethane materials from these residues.
