Green Carbon is a quarterly academic journal initiated in 2023 through a cooperation of KeAi, a publishing organization under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Elsevier
Green Carbon features articles on the following subjects:
- Renewable carbon: resources, environment, energy, chemicals and materials
- Green carbon utilization technologies: electrocatalysis, photocatalysis, chemical catalysis, biocatalysis and bio-manufacturing
- Synthetic biology for carbon fixation and conversion
- Electrochemical energy conversion and storage
- Net-zero and negative carbon technology
- Carbon management: carbon footprint and life cycle assessment, carbon simulation and policy
- Artificial intelligence and data science in green carbon research
The editorial office of Green Carbon is at the CAS Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology QIBEBT, or more precisely at the Shandong Energy Institute which is under the control of QIBEBT. One of the two Editors-in-Chief of Green Carbon is Professor Xuefeng LU who is also Director General of both institutes.
In 12 months since its inception, Green Carbon has published 42 articles which have been downloaded 640 times. Thus, the impact factor at present is around 15. A formal impact factor will be published in 2025, 2 years after its inception. Green Carbon is referenced by Chemical Abstracts and PubMed.
