Large-scale mass production in the core display technology sector for consumer AR (Augmented Reality) is important for cost-effective AR glasses and in-vehicle AR-HUDs (Augmented Reality Head-Up Displays).
Nika Optics (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., has opened a production line boasting an annual capacity of one million units. It features a Class 1000 cleanroom and a precision environmental control system, utilizing the company’s proprietary holographic exposure equipment and manufacturing platform throughout the entire process. With the launch of this line, the company’s combined annual production capacity across its Tianjin and Guangzhou facilities will expand to 1.3 million units.
Volume holographic optical waveguides are regarded within the industry as a key technological pathway for consumer AR devices. According to Du Youcheng, the company’s founder and CEO, the optical efficiency of the lens has reached 1,500 nits/lumen—approximately double that of conventional products on the market. Measuring just 0.6 millimeters in thickness and weighing 3.1 grams, it combines the advantages of high optical efficiency, a lightweight and thin profile, and low cost.
On its first day of operations, Nika Optics signed strategic cooperation agreements with partners across the industry chain. According to Mr. Du, the company has already established cooperative relationships with several major consumer electronics and automotive manufacturers, and its products are entering international markets. The company is also accelerating its overseas business expansion and integration into the global industrial ecosystem.
