An integrated solar, hydrogen, and energy storage project developed by Guohua Energy Investment Co. in Rudong County, Jiangsu Province, has been fully completed. This project stands as China’s largest offshore solar power demonstration project integrating solar generation, hydrogen production, and energy storage.

Located on the tidal flats of Rudong County, Jiangsu Province, the project features a total installed solar capacity of 400,000 kilowatts (kW). New facilities include a 220-kilovolt (kV) onshore step-up substation, a hydrogen production station with a capacity of 1,500 standard cubic meters per hour, and an electrochemical energy storage station. As China’s first project to integrate power generation, hydrogen production, and energy storage—balancing comprehensive energy utilization with the restoration of coastal ecosystems—it has achieved efficient, combined utilization across the “power–energy storage–hydrogen” chain.
