China presents study for its carbon emissions, shows lower than expected values

In a carbon inventory for fossil fuels and cement production for the period of 200 – 2013, done by CAS and 24 international partners such as Harvard University and others, it was shwon that China’s energy consumption is 10 % higher than the original estimate, but the total amount of carbon emission from coal was 6 % lower than foreseen, and carbon emission from cement production was 40 % lower. The results were published in a “Nature” article “Reduced carbon emission estimates from fossil fuel combustion and cement production in China”.
