According to CORE Group, the installation work of the nuclear island (NI) of the onshore commercial modularized small nuclear reactor “Linglong No. 1” in Changjiang Li (Li) Autonomous County, Hainan Province, has officially started. Linglong-1 is a multifunctional modularized small pressurized water reactor that has been researched and developed by the Core Group and has its own IP. The small reactor is characterized by high safety, short construction period, and high flexibility. As a decentralized energy source, it has multiple applications, such as desalination, district heating supply, and industrial heat supply, as well as electricity supply.
