According to the National Pipeline Group, the nationwide network of oil and gas in China is roughly completed after years of development. Its total length exceeds 180,000 kilometers and has doubled 10 years. The four major strategic oil and gas import routes of northwest, northeast, southwest, and offshore have been further solidified. Construction of Route 4 project (transporting natural gas from the western region to the eastern region) officially began on September 28. Route 4 will run from Wudu County Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, with a total length of approximately 3,340 kilometers.
