Several robot brands have recently launched new products, with prices dropping significantly compared to a year ago. Some models are priced below 10,000 yuan—comparable to the cost of a high-end smartphone.
A look at the best-selling humanoid robot rankings on a major e-commerce platform as of the 9th shows Noetix Robotics’ “Bumi” at the top; priced at 9,998 yuan, it sold over 100 units. Next was Unitree’s “Unitree R1,” priced at 39,999 yuan, with over 200 buyers. Many of the ranked robots had list prices under 100,000 yuan, with price points including 39,900, 69,900, 89,900, and 98,000 yuan.
From expensive, out-of-reach items to viable consumer choices: humanoid robots, which could cost hundreds of thousands of yuan just a year ago, are rapidly shedding their status as mere “luxury goods.”
According to a third-party distributor for Unitree, many new models prioritize cost-performance and have modest launch prices, leading to an increase in buyers. Industry observers attribute the significant drop in robot prices to a substantial reduction in manufacturing costs.
According to a scientist at the National and Local Joint Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, 3C electronics manufacturers—such as Lens Technology and Lingyi iTech—transition into OEM facilities for humanoid robots, the cost of manufacturing these robots has gradually declined.
According to the “2025 Humanoid Robot Market Research Report” released by the China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID), there were approximately 300 humanoid robot manufacturers in 2025, with market shipments totaling around 17,000 units. A scientist at the Zhejiang Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, predicted in an interview with the media that “China’s humanoid robot production volume will reach between 100,000 and 200,000 units in 2026.”
