To address the safety risks to the stable operation of the power grid caused by spring dust, the State Network Yinchuan Power Supply Company’s Transmission Operation Inspection Center is conducting drone-based cleaning operations on the porcelain insulators of power transmission lines. Dirt on insulators is one of the factors that causes power line trips. Traditional cleaning methods required workers to climb transmission towers and clean manually during power outages, which was labor-intensive, time-consuming, and posed a high safety risk. However, by utilizing large drones equipped with high-pressure cleaning devices, cleaning can be carried out without power outages, significantly improving cleaning efficiency and effectively supporting the stable operation of the power grid.
