According to the “Blue Book on the Development of Chinese Science and Technology Periodicals (2022)” recently released by the China Association for Science and Technology, the total number of Chinese science and technology periodicals has reached 5,071, and their academic influence is increasing. By the end of 2021, Chinese language accounted for their overwhelming majority, with 4,482 titles. English had 420 varieties, and Chinese-English 169 varieties. By discipline, there were 1570 basic science periodicals, 2271 technical science periodicals, 1152 medicine and health periodicals, and 78 general science periodicals.
