China to establish a hydrogen industry in order to meet carbon neutrality goals

The United Nations Development Programme UNDP is currently cooperating with China to develop the hydrogen economy.An important part will be played by fuel cell and hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle industry, of which China is reported to currently have a fleet of more than 7,000 vehicles, such as cargo vans and trucks for commercial use. According to a development roadmap from 2016 by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology MIIT, China expects 1 million fuel cell vehicles fueled by 70 MPa type IV high-pressure hydrogen and will build over 1,000 hydrogen filling stations by 2030.
