Mangan-graphene complex shows potential for water oxidation

The group of Li CAI at CAS Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics has reacted manganese chloride, graphene oxide and ammonia to generate a MnN4-graphene complex. The catalyst mediated water oxidation with a turnover frequency of up to 215 per second at relatively low overpotential values, an indication of high energy efficiency.
