Carbon nanotubes spun into yarn: CAS Institute of Chemistry, Beijing

Professor Minghua LIU’s group has constructed supramolecular yarn from monomers of N,N-eicosanedioyl-di-L-histidine . At slightly alkaline pH, the molecules assemble into flat sheets, which then roll up into nanotubes that are about 40nm wide and several hundred micrometres long.
