Researchers at CAS Chengdu Institute of Biology enhance stress-resistance in monocot plants after expression of a cytochrome P450

The researchers found that CYP710A11 present in tomatos is responsible for resistance towards salt, drought and heavy metal stress. When transforming monocot plants such as rice, wheat etc., they found that the transgenic plants showed also enhanced stress resistance.
