1-11 Team at CAS DICP achieves 100% CO oxidation at room temperature using Pt nanoparticles on graphene

The team of DENG Dehui at CAS Dalian has loaded platinum nanoparticles onto an graphene-encapsulated cobalt-nickelide armor („armor catalyst“ (Pt|CoNi). By this design, CoNi alloy is protected by an ultrathin graphene shell from oxidation and therefore modulates the electronic property of Pt-graphene interface via an electron penetration effect. In an oxygen-rich atmosphere, a nearly 100% oxidation of carbon monoxide was achieved at room temperature.
