Partners are the Binsi Liya Group, Sichuan Yibin Emi Line Industry Co., Yibin Emi New Fiber Materials Co. and other 21 enterprises and research institutions. The products involved are mainly silkworm pupae hydrolysate blended with other materials such as cotton, wool and synthetic materials (“pupa protein fiber”), marketed, e. g., under a “Saint-Saens” label. Whereas raw silk production was flat around 12 Mill. t over the last 20 years, pupa protein hydrolysate has expanded as a raw material and provided more versatile application properties.
