Chinese fermentation industry achieves output of 24 million to of products, value of 300 billion yuan in 2013

According to Weichen SHI, Chairman of China’s Fermentation Industry Association, major products such as yeast , amino acids, organic acids and enzymes continued a double-digit growth. Starch sugar production was about half (12 million tons), amino acid production 4 million tons, organic acids 1,6 million tons, polyol production 1.6 million tons, and enzyme production 1.1 million tons. Exports showed significant growth with 3.28 million tons, an increase of 13.2 % over 2012.
