Guangxi Automobile Group has launched a new “mobile battery” service in Liuzhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Car owners no longer need to search for charging poles. When they apply using their mobile phones, a mobile storage and charging vehicle will arrive and charge the car. Information such as charging progress and fees can be displayed by looking at the mobile app. The mobile energy storage and charging vehicle is equipped with level 4 autonomous driving capabilities and does not require driver operation. It can automatically provide services based on the system’s instructions. Even in complex environments, the charging vehicle can identify the location of the user’s vehicle by combining high-precision maps and real-time sensor data, and provide one-to-one charging services.

The vehicle was jointly developed by the Guangxi Automobile Group and Liuzhou Moling Technology. It is equipped with a smart battery management system and can store 141 kilowatt-hours (kWh). It can fully charge five new energy vehicles within a range of 300 kilometers and is compatible with European fast charging standards. A 10-minute charge provides a range of 100 kilometers, and charging times are more than 50% faster than with conventional fast charging poles.
