Chinese tech company iFlytek released and open-sourced its general-purpose large-language model (LLM), Spark-X2.6, at an industry event in Beijing. The new model is an end-cloud integrated LLM that the company said has achieved breakthroughs in coding and agentic capabilities using fully domestic computing infrastructure.

The model, sized at 293-A30B mixture-of-experts architecture (293B total parameters, 30B active per token), supports a context window of 1 million tokens and has been deployed on a domestic 10,000-card inference cluster. According to the company, the model has reached performance levels comparable to leading industry systems in multiple technical benchmarks.

Tighter US restrictions on AI chip exports to China are increasing the strategic importance of domestic computing infrastructure, and leads to closer collaboration between model developers and domestic chipmakers.
