According to the report, the Digital China Development Index for 2025 stood at 170.1, marking a 13% increase over the previous year. China currently holds the distinction of being the world’s largest holder of AI (Artificial Intelligence) patents, accounting for 60% of the global total. AI applications have evolved to a more advanced, agent-based paradigm, accompanied by a corresponding surge in token consumption.
As of December 2025, China had established over 110,000 high-quality datasets. The aggregate volume of these datasets exceeded 908 petabytes and covered diverse sectors such as healthcare, industry, and education. Concurrently, the cumulative volume of data annotations had surpassed 85 PB.
According to the report, the value added by the core industries of China’s digital economy accounted for 10.5% of its China’s GDP.
Currently, the number of users of internet-based healthcare services in China has reached 411 million, 36.5% of all internet users.
A cumulative total of 306 national-level “green computing power” facilities have been constructed to date.
