According to a blue book on “China Nuclear Development Report 2026”, China has already formed a world-leading nuclear power plant construction capacity and currently possesses the capability to simultaneously construct 50 nuclear reactors.

The investment in nuclear power plant construction projects in China in 2025 was 161 billion yuan, an increase of 14.1 billion yuan compared to the previous year. With the steady improvement in the level of uniqueness and domestic production of construction technology, China’s nuclear power plant projects have shifted from “single-reactor construction” to “multiple-reactor simultaneous construction,” and construction and operational capabilities across the entire lifecycle of nuclear power plant projects, from preparation to construction, cold testing to commercial operation, are gradually being formed.

While China’s nuclear power plant construction capacity continues to strengthen, its nuclear power plant equipment manufacturing capacity is also improving simultaneously. Through independent development and domestic production efforts, China has now achieved the manufacturing capacity to produce more than 10 sets of major nuclear power plant equipment annually, realizing 100% domestic production of major equipment and establishing key components and technologies.

By 2025, Chinese nuclear power plant equipment manufacturers are projected to deliver a cumulative total of 148 sets of major nuclear power generation equipment throughout the year, nearly three times the amount delivered in 2023, supporting the large-scale construction demand for nuclear power plants in China.
