A four-legged robot dog manufactured by Unitree Robotics navigated between containers at a loaded container inspection site in the Meishan Port District of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, verifying the container numbers and seal numbers of the containers being inspected. This marks the first time that an inspection support robot capable of automatically photographing and identifying container and seal numbers has been deployed at a port nationwide.
Customs officials can issue operational commands through the relevant system, and the inspection support robot autonomously plans a route to the target container, safely avoiding obstacles while accurately capturing container and seal number information using high-definition cameras and AI recognition algorithms. Images of the entire process are simultaneously transmitted to customs, forming a complete, traceable and verifiable supervision chain. After customs officials confirm the quality of the images, terminal workers unpack and transfer the containers.
Data show that the accuracy rate of container number identification by inspection support robots is currently over 99%. When three inspection support robots work simultaneously, a task that previously took four to six people more than an hour can now be completed in less than 20 minutes.
