Unitree Technology has developed a new quadrupedal robot, the Unitree As2, which boasts a maximum torque of 90 N.m and a continuous operating time of over four hours without load. It features a waterproof design, a maximum speed of 5 m/s, and a continuous operating distance of over 13 km with a 15 kg load. It weighs 18 kg and can operate stably even with a 105 kg adult on board.

A demo video shows the Unitree As2 navigating multiple complex terrains and adverse weather conditions, effortlessly navigating shallow rivers, snowy plains, dense forests, and gravel roads.

In terms of software, the Unitree As2 is equipped with a biomimetic embodied large-scale language model and an upgraded intelligent escort system. This allows it to move in accordance with the human’s position and move and jump in response to human gestures, achieving natural interaction similar to that of a pet dog.

In addition, the Unitree As2 can be equipped with optional accessories such as a 7-axis high-performance mechanical arm, giving it an “extra hand” and allowing it to function as a tennis partner.
