Dazhu County, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province, is named after its specialty, bamboo, and many people in the county make a living from bamboo.  Through collaboration between Dazhu County and Chengdu Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, a humanoid robot named “Bamboo Da” was developed This is the first humanoid robot to use bamboo fiber composite materials in its load-bearing structure. It is based on China’s national treasure, the panda, and its body and joint modules are made from bamboo fiber extracted from Dazhu bamboo. It boasts improved bending modulus, tensile modulus, deformation resistance, and material strength. Its physical properties include light weight and high strength, and it also highlights its green and environmentally friendly concept. It also embodies the culture that represents Sichuan Province.

The “Bamboo Da” robot that appeared at the event demonstrated its agile bipedal walking and excellent balancing abilities. It also demonstrated its human-like interactions and deep scene understanding through voice commands, body movements, and eye contact. The robot is equipped with “brain (decision-making planning)” and “cerebellum (motion control)” technologies, as well as multimodal interaction and high-speed inference models. Its wide range of applications include cultural and tourist guides, public guidance, and educational support, making it a product that vividly combines technology and culture.
