In the “Central Document No. 1” of China’s New Five-Years Plan “155” are calls for “exploring and developing applications for drones, the Internet of Things (IoT), robots, and other technologies.”

As information technology and AI technologies are becoming deeply integrated into China’s agricultural production, drones, agricultural robots and other smart agricultural equipment will add even more to agricultural tools’. The overall mechanization rate for plowing, sowing, and harvesting is expected to reach 76.7%. Agricultural drones will exceed 300,000 and operate on an area exceeding 460 million mu (approximately 30.67 million hectares). The development and application of agricultural robots has accelerated the overcoming of obstacles and breakthroughs.

The modernization level of China’s agriculture has continued to rise, and the contribution rate of agricultural science and technology is high.
