Zhejiang Province decorates 96 “New Technology Dragons”, 57% of them AI-related

At Zhejiang Province’s first “New Technology Dragons” presentation conference, 96 “New Technology Dragons” gathered and gave presentations.

The “Six Hangzhou Dragons,” AI-related companies including DeepSeek, are outstanding examples among the many high-quality technology companies in Zhejiang. At the conference, 96 “Zhejiang Province New Technology Dragons” received certificates. They were selected from nearly 400 candidates and represent three major innovation bases:

  • AI (artificial intelligence), l
  • ife and health, and
  • new materials and new energy.

AI-related companies account for 57%. Total R&D investment by 96 companies reached 4.73 billion ¥ (about 600 million €) by 2024, with an average R&D investment ratio of over 30%. The average ratio of researchers and developers was 48.7%. They hold a total of more than 9,000 approved patents and software copyrights, with an average of nearly 95 per company. Total sales were RMB 18.73 billion in 2024 (about 2,3 billion €), up 48.7% from the previous year.

Over 90% of the companies have raised funds for nearly three years. Their innovations are rooted in real-world industry challenges and cutting-edge trends, demonstrating their rapid time-to-market and outstanding cross-disciplinary collaboration capabilities.
