Beijing Penetrator Manned Aerospace Technology, a space tourism company, has announced that actor Huang Jingyu (Huang Jingyu) has been selected as the ninth space tourist. The company’s commercial manned spacecraft, “Penetrator One (CYZ1),” is scheduled for launch in 2028.
According to the company, reservations for space travel have already begun, with a price of 3 million yuan (approximately 360,000 €) per person, with a 10% advance payment required to confirm the reservation. To date, over a dozen people from the academic and business worlds, as well as entertainment and influencers, have already paid their fees and confirmed their reservations.
According to the company, Qiu Heng, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of AGIBOT, a humanoid robot manufacturer, has been selected as the first space tourist. Space tourists who have signed contracts include CAE Academician Li Lixi, US-based poet Lin Xiaoyan, Xie Meng, Vice Chairman and CEO of Guangzhou Zhengjia Group, and Liu Baiqi, CEO of Starhe Power.
According to documents, Penyue Zhejiang Manned Aerospace Technology, which was established in January 2023, is China’s first company to operate a manned spaceflight business, and is focusing on the research and development of reusable manned spacecraft and the operation of space tourism. Over the next three to four years, the company hopes to successfully research and develop a reusable manned spacecraft that will fly in space near the Earth, and to make space tourism a reality in China and Asia around 2028.
