University of Chinese Academy of Sciences initiates plans for an integrated curriculum of “interstellar navigation”

The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) has established the Interstellar Navigation Academy, with Academician Zhu Junqiang, Director of the CAS Bureau of Strategic High Technology Research as its first dean.

According to Zhu Junqiang, the core positioning of the Academy is to serve as an innovation source and talent cultivation base for the long-term development of national interstellar travel. The Academy focuses on cutting-edge fields such as interstellar propulsion, deep space communication and navigation, and space science.

A bachelor’s-doctoral integrated training system will be established within 3-5 years.
