In the  two story “Twenty-Four Solar Terms AI Robot Restaurant” began trial operations in Sandun Town, West Lake District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province,  artificial intelligence (AI) handles robots working together, from cooking to serving.

The noodle-cooking robot moves its arms to accurately pick up the ordered noodles, boil them, and place them in a bowl. The coffee robot smoothly lifts the cup, pours the coffee from the spout, and adds milk and sugar, completing a series of actions. The restaurant is incredibly lively, with floor-cleaning robots and food-delivery robots roaming among the customers, and the robots working together to “run” the restaurant.

According to restaurant manager Cai Haitang, there are a total of eight robots. They can handle a full process, from taking orders, cooking, serving food, and cleaning up, covering over 60% of the restaurant’s operations. Currently, five human staff members are employed, one in charge of accounting and one in charge of preparation.”

The stir-frying robot, it places ingredients and seasonings, such as oil, green vegetables, shiitake mushrooms, soy sauce, and oyster sauce, into the induction cooker one by one. The robotic arm precisely controls the pot to fry the food, and in no time, a delicious aroma fills the air. The robot has information on 100 different menu items input, and has also collected data on the movements of professional chefs in advance. In over 1,000 tests based on AI algorithms, the accurate control of heat was optimised.
