According to the “AI + Transportation Shanghai Release 2025” event,

• Shanghai and Jiangsu Province have collaborated on the testing and application of smart connected cars,
• new autonomous driving test roads have been opened in the Pudong New Area, Minhang District, and Hongqiao Hub, bringing the total number of test roads available in Shanghai to 3,173, with a total length of 5,238.82 kilometers, and covering approximately one-third of the city’s area.

In addition, China’s first management platform for opening and utilizing traffic signal data for an entire major city was announced. Real-time signal data from approximately 7,600 intersections is expected to be used for research, development, and mass production of advanced autonomous driving technology.
