A team of Chinese scientists has created a type of tiny robots that can remove bacterial infections from deep inside the paranasal sinuses. This non-invasive and drug-free option is an alternative to conventional treatment methods

The team fabricated magnetically guided microrobots equipped with copper (Cu) single atom–doped bismuth oxoiodide (BiOI) which can be activated by light through an optical fibre, effectively disrupting stubborn bacterial biofilms and generated antibacterial agents.
