A smart patrol system based on robot dogs with a self-driving patrol car are tested in Boda Park in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone

The smart robot dog has a four-legged biomimetic design. It is equipped with a multi-spectral camera and searchlight set on its head. It weighs about 65 kg and has agile movements and high mobility. This smart robot dog has IP67-grade dustproof and waterproof performance and can operate continuously for four hours, and can withstand extreme environments such as storms and high temperatures. The modular design of the dog’s back allows it to be quickly fitted with equipment such as explosion protection devices and gas detectors, allowing it to flexibly handle tasks such as patrol security and explosive ordnance disposal.

The robot dog will be responsible for ground patrol security, connecting with autonomous vehicles in real time via the 5G network. The autonomous vehicles will provide supplies and data transmission, forming an efficient cooperative system of “forward reconnaissance + rear support.” Stakeholders are hopeful that the dog will be useful in places that are difficult for autonomous patrol cars to access, such as inside buildings and underground spaces.

The autonomous vehicle is equipped with a 360-degree panoramic head and high-precision sensors, and can be connected to a smart city video system. This will form a three-dimensional monitoring and management network that links aerial and ground networks, enabling 24-hour patrol security throughout the development zone.
