China to train 1,300 overseas TCM doctors and nurses over the next three years

At the 3rd World Medical Science and Technology Conference recently held in Changchun, Jilin Province, it was revealed that China will provide special training to 1,300 overseas traditional Chinese medicine talents over the next three years. Traditional Chinese medicine is becoming an emerging field of international cooperation for China. According to statistics from the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China has signed traditional Chinese medicine cooperation documents with more than 40 foreign governments, regional competent authorities, and international organizations, and has built 30 high-quality traditional Chinese medicine overseas centers in countries jointly building the “Belt and Road”.

According to Yu Yanhong, director of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China will mainly focus on acupuncture and moxibustion research, medicinal plant research, and evidence-based research on traditional medicine, and will carry out scientific and technological innovation exchanges and practical cooperation with relevant countries, regions, and international organizations to improve the level of scientific research on traditional medicine. First of all, China will train 1,300 traditional Chinese medicine talents from relevant countries over the next three years to promote international exchange and inheritance of traditional Chinese medicine culture.

The 2024 Changchun International Medical and Health Industry Expo which was held at the same time attracted more than 100,000 visitors. Several manufacturers showed off their latest achievements in the exhibition area, such as smart medical equipment and traditional Chinese medicine compounding systems.
