On November 26th, China’s first offshore gas storage facility in the Tangshan area of the Bohai Sea was opened. The natural gas travels underwater through the pipeline and eventually join the ‘artery’ of the national pipeline. It serves as a peak-adjusting gas.
The effective storage capacity of the Nanbao No. 1 gas storage facility of the Jidong Oilfield is 1.814 billion cubic meters. AChina Petroleum’s Jidong Oilfield has already conducted research on five oil-type gas storage facilities, and two gas storage facilities are under construction. In the future, it plans to build four gas storage facility groups and 15 gas storage facilities, completeing the North China Gas Storage Center, and further improving the natural gas peak adjustment supply capacity of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
