Fuling shale gas field reaches cumulative production of 70 billion m3

The gas field is operated by China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation and China’s sixth largest natural gas field. Located in Chongqing City, commercial development began in March 2014. The current production volume is more than 20 million cubic meters per day. In 2017, the production capacity of 10 billion cubic meters per year was built. The cumulative confirmed shale gas reserves to date are approximately 900 billion cubic meters, and it holds multiple records, including the cumulative production volume of a single shale gas field in China and the cumulative production volume of a single well. It maintains a stable production volume of more than 8 billion cubic meters per year, accounting for about one-third of China’s annual shale gas production.
