According to the National Energy Administration of China, the wind and solar power generation capacity in China at the end of July this year was 1.206 billion kilowatts (kW).
As of the end of September, China’s renewable energy capacity was 1.73 billion kW, up 25% from the same period last year, accounting for 54.7% of China’s total power generation capacity.
- 430 GWh from hydroelectric power,
- 480 GWh from wind power,
- 770 GWh from solar power, and
- 46 GWh from biomass
In the first three quarters of this year (January to September), China’s domestic power generation from renewable energy sources increased 20.9% to 2.51 trillion kilowatt-hours (kWh), accounting for approximately 35.5% of total power generation. Of this, wind and solar power generation increased 26.3% to 1.349 trillion kWh.
