Taiwan collaborates with Indonesia on research to reduce and effectively use waste

Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan Tech) is conducting research on waste reduction, sustainable use of materials, and clean production methods through its Science and Technology Innovation Center, which opened last year as a joint initiative with Indonesian academic institutions. Taiwan Tech, Indonesia’s Institute of Technology Surabaya (ITS), Widya Mandala Catholic University (WMSCU), and others will establish the Science and Technology Innovation Center for Circular Economy and Green Advanced Resources as a science and technology center to conduct research on circular economy and sustainable resource use. The center will be established and is financially supported by both the Taiwanese and Indonesian governments, and is headed by Professor Jhy-Chern Liu of the Department of Chemical Engineering at Taiwan Tech.
