According to China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), the central platform of the Bochong 19-6 Condensate Field, the first 100 billion cubic meter large gas field in Bohai Bay, has been completed in Qingdao, Shandong Province. The project will be operational by the end of this year, providing stable and reliable clean energy and chemical industrial products to Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei Province and the Bohai Sea Rim region.

The platform is a multifunctional integrated offshore oil and gas platform that integrates production and living, and is 32 meters high, 65 meters long, and 56 meters wide, with a projected area equivalent to about nine standard basketball courts. The platform includes production facilities such as production separators and flash vapor compressors, as well as a living quarters where 120 people can work and live simultaneously. The total weight of the building is approximately 12,000 tons, equivalent to the weight of 10,000 small household cars. According to experts, the platform is equipped with two natural gas dehydration units that were designed, assembled, and integrated independently for the first time in China. The treated natural gas will not precipitate water even under the high pressure of 52 megapascals (MPa) and minus 38 degrees Celsius, which will greatly enhance the stable gas supply capacity of the oil field.

The Bochong 19-6 condensate field is located in the central Bohai Sea area and is the first large, fully equipped, high production 100 billion cubic meter condensate field in the eastern China region. The geological reserves of natural gas and condensate confirmed so far are more than 200 billion cubic meters and 200 million cubic meters, respectively.
