Low speed MAGLEV test line opened in Jiangxi Province

A 800 m trial line using rare earth permanent magnetic levitation (PML) technology was built in Xingguo County, Jiangxi Province. It was jointly developed by the Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, China Railway Liuyuan Group (CRL Group), China Railway Hi-Tech Industry Co., Ltd. and China National Rare Earth Functional Material Innovation Center. Designed maximum speed is 80 kmh, and the system can serve a two-carriage maglev train with a capacity of 88 people. It is equipped with the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, 5G and intelligent sensing technologies. Dubbed “Rainbow”, the system is considered a cost-effective rail mode for applications such as scenic spots, airport terminal connections, business centers and small towns.
