In February 2016, under the initiative of academicians HE Mingyuan, WU Yundong and CHENG Jinpei, a “think tank on green catalysis” was created by East China Normal University, Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, Dalian Institute of Chemical Engineering of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Lanzhou Institute of Separation Science. So far, a total of 48 academicians from CAS and CAE and many high-level special professors have joined this think tank. The focus will be on green catalysis, clean energy, new materials, coal chemical industry, environmental protection, rare earth utilization, salt lake chemical industry, etc., and a special focus will be on using the resources of west China for green and sustainable developments.
