Following a ban of some plastic materials by Hainan province, the Center was founded in the Haikou Hi-Tech Zone. It is led by the CAS Institute of Physics and Chemistry, and members are the Hainan Plastics Industry Association, Hainan University, the Hainan Provincial Quality Inspection Institute and others. The center will work on basic technologies with the anticipation to drive the development of the industry.
