A key West-East DC transmission line constructed by Southern Electric Power Co. was started at the end of December. The line serves as the main transmission “artery” for the Wudongde hydropower plant, the world’s seventh-largest hydropower plant. It starts in Yunnan Province and stretches 1,452 kilometers across high mountains, rivers and lakes, transmitting abundant hydropower to Guangdong Province and Guangxi Autonomous Region.
