China’s photovoltaic power generation reaches 18.7 GW, highest in the world

According to the Secretary General of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, polycrystalline silicon production increased 18.9% year-on-year to about 290,000 tons, and module production increased 6.7% to 80GW. Newly installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation nationwide increased by 17% to 18.7 GW, and the amount of photovoltaic power generation increased by 16.9% to 2005 billion kWh. The price of silicon wafers dropped  from around 100 CN¥  to 3 CN¥ within 10 years, and the price of a module from 30 CN¥ per Watt generated to around 1.7 CN¥.
