China’s Tianhe-3 exascale computer aims at 10 to the power of 18 calculations per second

It will be entirely constructed from parts made in China. A prototype is expected for early 2018, and Tianhe-3 will be fully operational in 2020. It will be able to analyze smog distribution on a national level, simulate earthquakes and epidemic outbreaks.
