Group at Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University improves goat breeding for cashmere production

The group of CHEN Yulin, supported by Nanjing University’s HUANG Xingxu, used CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing technologies to knock out FGF5 and MSTN genes related to wool growth and myostatin in a total of 19 lambs of the Northern Shaanxi White Cashmere goat. The desired effects in terms of cashmere production and quality were observed
