Based on studies at the Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology at SIBS, the gene „ERECTA“ was expressed in various plants such as rice and tomato and led to enhanced heat resistance of the crops at 40 °C ambient temperature or higher. First field tests seem to confirm these findings.
