Researchers at CAS Institute of Biophysics solve crystal structure of E. coli multidrug transporter, relevant for antibiotic resistance

The group of ZHANG Kai and colleagues has solved the structure of E. coli MdfA protein, a multidrug transporter, in the presence of chloramphenicol at 2 A resolution. This finding might help to design antibiotics which are not bound to the transporter.
